Belarus government dedicated to raising average salary to Br1,000 by year end

Tuesday, 31 October 2017

The government intends to fulfill the plans to raise the average salary in Belarus to Br1,000 by the end of 2017, BelTA learned from Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin on 27 October.

The deputy prime minister said that efforts to reach the average salary of Br1,000 are slightly behind the schedule. “But we will try to reach it. The goal to hit the targeted parameters by the end of the year has been set,” said Anatoly Kalinin.

During the joint session of both chambers of the Belarusian parliament on 27 October the deputy prime minister stated that for now the nominal salaries are lower than the figure specified by the schedule for reaching Br1,000 by the end of the year. Salaries in Belarus averaged at Br844 in August. Vitebsk Oblast and Grodno Oblast are lagging behind together with the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim, the light industry concern Bellegprom, and the Belarusian National Union of Consumer Societies Belkoopsoyuz.
