Wednesday, 10 January 2018

The Minsk region plans to increase exports of goods by 4% (excluding republican organizations, oil and oil products) in 2018, as well as 4% export of services (excluding republican organizations) to the level of 2017, BelTA learned from the Economy Committee Of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee.

"The value of exports of goods in the region in 2018 is expected at $ 4.5 billion. Export of services is projected at $ 570.9 million. In both cases, the growth rate will be 104% to the level of 2017," the committee said.

It is expected that the main role in increasing export deliveries of goods to foreign markets in the region will be played by the enterprises of the Minsk Municipal Government Office Minskblymyasomolprom, the management company of the Myasomolprom holding. Enterprises will participate in major landmark exhibitions in Russia. In addition, the work on the export of meat and dairy products to the Chinese market will continue. All milk processing enterprises of the holding have already received permission to supply dairy products to China (butter, cheese, dried milk whey, skimmed milk powder, sterilized milk). Various algorithms and variants of entering the Chinese market of meat products are being worked out. In 2018, the rate of growth in exports of goods by enterprises "Minskblymyasomolproma" is forecasted at the level of 107.1%. It is also planned to continue work on selling products to the markets of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan.

Another point of export growth in 2018 promises to be the implementation of Geely cars on the Russian market with the prospect of deliveries to the Kazakhstan market. An additional increase in exports will be provided by enterprises that have modernized production, and also produce import-substituting products.

As for the growth of services exports, it is intended to contribute to the stable work of leading transport enterprises, the development of tourist, medical, information and computer services. Particular attention will be paid to the work on building and business services. Export of transportation services is planned to be increased both by the subsidiaries of OJSC "Minoblaftotrans" and by private enterprises, with the expected export of such services at the end of the year to be about $ 460 million.

In 2018, the implementation of the largest project in the Minsk region - the construction of the Sino-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone" will be continued. It is planned to use the created transport and logistics centers to implement the concept of "One belt and one way" in order to create an economic corridor between China and Europe.

As noted in the committee of the economy, the growth rate of the gross regional product in 2018 is projected at 103.9% in relation to 2017. The main influence on its formation will be made by industry (specific weight - about 39%), agriculture (12%), trade (11%) and construction (8%). In particular, the growth in the volume of industrial production in the region in 2018 is planned to be provided through the development of the machine building complex, food and pharmaceutical industries.
