Trade unions helped to protect the interests of more than 9,000 workers in the agro-industrial complex of the Minsk region in three years

The Minsk regional organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Agro-Industrial Workers (APK) over the past three years has helped to protect labor rights and legitimate socio-economic interests of more than 9,000 people, BelTA learned from the Minsk regional union of trade unions.

In particular, during 2015-2017, workers of the agro-industrial complex with the help of trade unions returned illegally withheld or unpaid money in the amount of Br533 thousand. The regional and district trade union organizations paid special attention to observance by employers of the norms of labor legislation: surcharges when working in harmful and dangerous working conditions, as well as for work in overtime, surcharges to the minimum wage and payments of one-time material assistance in connection with disability as a result of an accident with uchaya in manufacturing and others.

During this period, 73 trade union organizations were established in the industry. As noted in the association, the analysis of the activities of the Minsk regional organization of the Belarusian trade union of workers of the agroindustrial complex shows that the trade union committees of all levels, the regional committee apparatus ensured the fulfillment of the main goals and tasks stipulated by the charter of the trade union.
