Russia: Belarus can deliver 4-6m tonnes of oil products via Russian ports

Monday, 28 September 2020

MOSCOW, 28 September (BelTA) – Belarus can deliver 4-6 million tonnes of oil products via Russian ports as it redirects its cargo flows from the seaports of Lithuania to Russia, Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said in an interview to the Rossiya 24 TV channel. The corresponding agreements are expected to be reached in the near future, the minister noted.

“As it is known, our north-western cluster has free capacities in the seaports of Primorsk, St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga. The parties are currently studying the conditions. The volumes may reach 4-6 million tonnes of oil products,” Alexander Novak said. In early September, the minister said that Belarus would be able to deliver over 3-4 million tonnes of oil products via the Russian seaports.

“We hope that such agreements will be reached in the near future,” Alexander Novak said.

BelTA has reported earlier that Moscow and Minsk started working on redirecting oil product supplies from the seaports of Lithuania to Russia. In September Russia would prepare proposals on the delivery of Belarusian oil products via the Russian ports, Alexander Novak said.
