Lukashenko: Belarus is open to friendly, business contacts with all states

Monday, 20 May 2019

Belarus is open to friendship and business contacts with all states, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he received credentials of foreign ambassadors on 20 May, BelTA has learned.

“Our country is known for its hospitality. We are open to friendly and business relations with all states. I am convinced that you will be comfortable performing your diplomatic duties here, because the pillars of our foreign policy are peace, multi-vector approach, balanced stance, consistency and predictability. Those who share these approaches, who come here with peace and good intentions can always count on understanding and support in implementing all constructive plans and ideas,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

Addressing the diplomats, the Belarusian leader expressed confidence that they will feel comfortable and safe in Belarus. “We are by right proud of having no racial discrimination, no inter-ethnic or inter-faith conflicts,” he emphasized.

The president noted that the ambassadors are starting their mission in Belarus in spring, a season that always brings good emotions and hope for change. “Spring in Belarus is associated with another important event. Each year in May we celebrate our veterans and another anniversary of the Great Victory over fascism. The celebration will be followed by the key holiday of the Belarusian statehood – Independence Day. In July this year we will mark 75 years of Belarus' liberation from Nazism. We have been building our sovereign Belarusian state on this foundation for nearly three decades,” the president noted.

“Our country has achieved a lot over a relatively small period of time. Belarus is now an established member of the international community, it has found reliable allies and partners,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
