MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – Members of political parties comprise 19.1% of the new House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina told reporters on 18 November.
110 people were elected to the 110-seat House of Representatives, the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament. “19.1% of them or 21 people are members of political parties,” Lidia Yermoshina said. A total of 44 women MPs were elected to the new parliament. Now women account for 40% of the House of Representatives. There are also two MPs under 30 years of age.
