More than 30% of people living in Belarus have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich told reporters, BelTA has learned. 

The first dose of the vaccine has already been administered to 3.12 million people. “As to healthcare and education specialists, social workers and those who come in contact with many people, the vaccination rate in these population groups is 70-80%,” Dmitry Pinevich said. 

According to him, this is bearing fruit as it helps break the chain of COVID-19 transmission. “We see a decline in the pandemic, and this is also due to the vaccination effort,” the minister said. 

Dmitry Pinevich noted that the vaccination is gathering pace. “I believe that we have managed to convince those people who were in doubts. Now vaccines - both Sputnik and the Chinese one - are in demand,” he said. The minister added that “at present about 600,000 doses of the first component of the vaccine are in circulation”. Another batch of the Chinese vaccine has arrived. More purchases are planned. Everyone who wants to get a shot, will be able to do it, the minister assured. 

According to him, at present Sputnik accounts for three quarters of all vaccines used in Belarus, the rest are the vaccines made by China. “The indications for administering these vaccines are essentially the same, with some exceptions. I think that the same will remain in place in the future when COVID-19 vaccination will become permanent (we are discussing it now),” Dmitry Pinevich said. The localization of the Chinese vaccine is also being considered. “Therefore, I believe that all types of vaccines will find their niche in the national vaccination calendar,” he added. 

Speaking about plans to resume providing routine medical care in hospitals, the minister noted that most of this work will be done within a month. Plans were developed for each region, and they are updated every day. “At the same time, we remain on standby. We urge everyone not to lower their guard and take precautions, and to opt for vaccination or get a booster shot if time has come,” the minister added.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined the tasks to address the most pressing issues on the current agenda at a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers in Minsk on 11 November, BelTA has learned.

The head of state, in particular, set the tasks for the agricultural sector, spoke about the pressing situation with migrants on the border, gave instructions to respond to the Western sanctions against Belarus, spoke about the treatment of coronavirus patients in Belarus. A number of other issues were also on the agenda of the meeting, including the reform of entrepreneurial activity. 

First of all, the head of state touched upon the harvesting campaign, the autumn and spring field works. The head of state urged to do everything in a qualitative and prompt manner, in the optimal time frame. Food prices are high in general. This, according to Aleksandr Lukashenko, will help famers to improve and strengthen their financial situation. Special emphasis should be made on the maintenance and repair of farm vehicles for the spring planting campaign, while the strategic task for the near future is land reclamation. 

Aleksandr Lukashenko could not ignore the situation on the border with migrants. He instructed to provide assistance to refugees at the border, especially pregnant women and children. In particular, the head of state instructed to bring them dry firewood. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been tasked with raising the issue in the UN and other international organizations. 

The head of state also gave clear instructions in the field of border security. "The Defense Ministry, the KGB, the border troops are to ensure control over the movement of troops of NATO and Poland. 

You can already see 15,000 troops, tanks, armored vehicles, helicopters and planes brought to our border without any warning,” the Belarusian leader said. 

The head of state also mentioned attempts to bring weapons and ammunition to the migrants' camp in order to provoke a conflict. 

Sanctions were another topic discussed at the meeting. “They started scaring us with the fifth package. As for the fifth package, Roman Aleksandrovich [Golovchenko, Prime Minister of Belarus], you have been given the relevant instructions: we must not forgive them anything,” the head of state said. 

Aleksandr Lukashenko also spoke about the epidemic situation in Belarus. Despite the recession in COVID-19 cases, no one can feel complacent, he stressed. 

The president emphasized the need for the clinics that had previously been repurposed to treat patients with coronavirus to gradually resume their routine operations. 

A number of other issues were considered at the meeting as well. “They have been put forward for separate discussion as some additional questions arose in regard to them,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. 

One of these topics were entrepreneurial reforms. The president said that the task had been set to increase participation of SMEs in financing state expenditures. The government has worked out certain approaches and submitted the draft decree “On the activity of SMEs” for the approval of the head of state. 

The participants of the meeting also discussed the provision of state support to Amkodor and the construction of a new educational building of the Belarusian State University.

В рамках первого этапа республиканской акции «Не прожигай свою жизнь!» работники Воложинского районного отдела по чрезвычайным ситуациям встретились с трудовым коллективом Воложинских районных электросетей и ОАО «Ивенецкий завод художественной керамики».

В своих выступлениях спасатели обращали особое внимание присутствующих на проблему гибели и травматизма людей на пожарах, ведь зачастую люди не знают, как вести себя в той или иной чрезвычайной ситуации, как пользоваться первичными средствами пожаротушения. Поэтому необходимо, чтобы каждый из присутствующих после встречи обладал хотя бы минимальными навыками и знаниями, с помощью которых он сможет справиться с возникшей ситуацией либо предупредить её возникновение.

В рамках встречи спасатели рассказали собравшимся об информационно-пропагандистской кампании «Не жди белочку – туши окурок!», а также познакомили присутствующих с новой кампанией «Безопасная старость» и призвали детей не забывать о своих престарелых родителях и родственниках. Поговорили и о необходимости установки в домовладениях автономных пожарных извещателей.

В завершение мероприятия работникам был продемонстрирован видеофильм «Трэба дома бываць часцей». Каждый участник акции получил наглядно-изобразительную продукцию по безопасности жизнедеятельности.

В рамках информационно-пропагандистской кампании «Не жди белочку – туши окурок!», а также республиканской акции «Не прожигай свою жизнь!» работники Воложинского районного отдела по чрезвычайным ситуациям посещают на дому граждан, ведущих асоциальный образ жизни. Основная задача – напомнить, что цена беспечности за свои ошибки может быть высока,  ведь на кону – целая жизнь.

Для максимального охвата и информирования населения о существующей проблеме на почтовых ящиках домовладений, где проживают граждане, имеющие пагубные привычки, продолжает появляться наглядно-изобразительная продукция, которая несёт в себе призыв не ждать белочку, а быстро и навсегда затушить окурок.

«Асоциальный образ жизни – неизменный спутник пожаров и причин гибели людей от них. Статистика спасателей регулярно пополняется примерами пожаров, которые происходят по причине небрежного отношения к собственной безопасности. И, к сожалению, некоторые из таких примеров весьма печальные: на пожарах гибнут наши граждане. А ведь подавляющее большинство пожаров происходит именно из-за человеческого фактора: не досмотрел, поленился, не успел», – объясняли гражданам работники МЧС.
