The 16th European Automobile Congress will take place in Minsk on 7-10 October, the press service of the Belarusian National Technical University told BelTA. The congress has been organized by the university and the Academic Automobile Association. The congress will draw attention to technological information and trends that move automotive industry forward. The event will gather over 300 engineers and executives from over 30 countries of Europe, Asia, America, and Africa for the sake of sharing knowledge and planning joint efforts in the area of creating environmentally pristine, safe, and modern automobiles. The latest innovations from European companies and universities will be presented, including from Germany, France, and Italy.
Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko reminded representatives of the Minsk city administration about beautification and municipal improvement tasks as he visited the cosmetics manufacturer ZAO Vitex on 27 September, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “I've told them to plant trees along roads but I saw only empty land on the way past these places. People are employed to mow grass on these road shoulders three times per year. Waste of money. Plant some shrubs there. It will be enough to trim them once every 3-5 years to make them beautiful and Minsk will look differently then. We are talking about the image of the city. Plant some small fir trees at least.” He remarked that some work to that effect needs to be done in autumn while overall plans have to be made during winter. The head of every district of the city needs to receive the relevant instructions, Aleksandr Lukashenko said. The president also reminded that enterprises and organizations should also contribute to the improvement and beautification of the surrounding territories.
Chairman of Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko congratulated Mayor of Chongqing Tan Liangzhi and residents of the twin city of Minsk Oblast on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Recall, the Education Day of the People's Republic of China is celebrated on October 1. Twin cities between Chongqing and the Minsk region were established in March 2017. The most active interregional cooperation in various fields began to develop in 2018-2019.
The government of Belarus counts on Germany's assistance in promoting relations between Belarus and the European Union, Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Manfred Huterer on 30 September, BelTA has learned.
“I hope that in this role you will help build momentum in our relations with the European Union. Germany plays a key role in the EU and naturally it has substantial influence on the EU policy,” Sergei Rumas said.
The Belarusian head of government expressed hope that economy will be a priority for Germany's new ambassador. Sergei Rumas noted that more than 300 companies with German capital operate in Belarus. Germany is a major trading partner of Belarus. At the same time, Sergei Rumas believes that a lot of opportunities are still ahead. “Belarus-Germany cooperation in trade, economy and investment has great potential. We are happy about the results achieved by the Belarus-Germany working group on trade and investment. We would like this group to pass its best practices to the working group on sci-tech cooperation; we are waiting for it to resume its work. We would also like the Business Cooperation Council to step up its activities. We remember the years when this organization was very active in promoting the interests of Belarusian and German business people,” Sergei Rumas said. Manfred Huterer confirmed Germany's commitment to expanding trade, economic and investment ties with Belarus. This matter was discussed during the 10th Day of German Economy in Belarus.
“In recent years our relations have made substantial progress and not only in the economic sector. We maintain a close political dialogue between the governments. I am really glad that Vladimir Makei will come to Germany soon to meet with his German counterpart,” the ambassador said. Manfred Huterer noted that a solid foundation is needed for cooperation. “Last year we managed to stand up to the challenges and will keep doing it, however, for that we need a very strong economic and social foundation,” he said.

As Yevgeny Ivashkevich, a member of the Public Association “ZOViK”, noted, the idea is being implemented by the Minsk Cycling Society and the Center for Environmental Solutions institution with the support of the project “Development of urban cycling in Belarus”.
At this stage, it has not been finally decided where express service stations will be installed. However, with their appearance, bicycle enthusiasts will be able to independently service their bike without resorting to the help of workshops, because the stations will be equipped with the necessary tools.
By the way, a kilometer cycle path has already appeared in the city, a time-logistics map has been created and several bicycle parks have been installed.
The delegation of Minsk Oblast is on a business visit in Chongqing, China. This multi-million city, located in the southeastern part of Sichuan, is the twin city of the central region.
The cooperation of Minsk Oblast and Chongqing began in 2002. It was then that an agreement was signed on cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields. But these interregional relations have received special development in recent years.
Commodity turnover between the Minsk region and Chongqing has significantly increased, and cultural ties are growing stronger. So, the head of the main department of ideological work, culture and youth affairs of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, Tatyana Khmel, noted that Chongqing representatives are interested in developing joint projects and sharing experience. As part of a business trip, a meeting will be held with the Director of Culture and Tourism of Chongqing City, where further prospects for cooperation will be discussed. In addition, the delegation will visit the Bolshoi Hall, the Chongqing Ballet School, the Belarusian Center for Cultural and Tourism Products.

The visit will last until October 1, inclusive.
