The monument to World War II veterans Sophia Kuntcevich, Belarusian State Technological University library director who has worked (BSTU) more than 25 years, will open in the Library Day on 15 September Petrishki village Minsk region. Kuntcevich Sophia was born August 28, 1922 in the village of Voronovschina Kopyl district, Minsk region. In July 1941, as part of an infantry battalion girl voluntarily went to the front, he served as a platoon commander sanitary. She took part in fierce battles, he was seriously wounded several times.

During the war, Sophia made a battlefield 147 wounded. She was awarded the Order of the Red Banner, the Red Star, the Great Patriotic War I degree, the medal "For Victory over Germany".

In 1981, Sophia Kuntcevich awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal. This award is given for outstanding nurses selfless actions with respect to patients in times of peace and times of war, in recognition of their exceptional moral and professional qualities. Sophia died Kuntcevich May 9, 2012.
