Minsk region and South Sinai Governorate Egypt approved a plan to implement the memorandum of interregional cooperation, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Paul Yukhnevich.
The action plan was approved during the official visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in Egypt. The document is of indefinite duration, but may be revised or supplemented, if necessary.
"The plan includes common areas of cooperation between the two regions in the economic, social and sports fields. This is a practical document that relates to the agreements reached during the visit of the Governor of South Sinai Khaled foods Sedik in Minsk Region, held in November last year. The plan also takes into account the wishes of the working group on the Belarusian side, formed as a result of a previous visit to Egypt, "- said Paul Yukhnevich.
Representatives of enterprises of Minsk region have already submitted Egyptian partners concrete proposals on cooperation. For example, JSC "BelAZ" is interested in cooperation in the implementation of major economic projects that will be realized in the Sinai Peninsula. Yukhnevich Paul also said that representatives of the company "Akvadiv" visited Egypt is only for the purpose of exploring the possibility of supply of alcohol products and the need for it in this country market.
Minsk region and South Sinai have also considered the possibility of cooperation in the field of land reclamation, reached a number of agreements in the field of sports. The Egyptian side showed great interest in the product standard "Halal", produced by JSC "Agrokombinat" Dzerzhinsky ".
Minsk region started active cooperation with Egypt on the regional level. Memorandum on cooperation in trade-economic and socio-cultural fields to Governorate of South Sinai was signed November 22, 2016. The document endorsed the regional heads Semyon Shapiro and Khaled Fouda Sedik.
