Both sites are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List and are among Belarus’ most iconic landmarks.

At Mir Castle, a 16th-century monument of defensive architecture, the delegation viewed the exhibition and learned about the castle’s history. The architectural models of Belarusian landmarks drew particular interest. The guests were briefed on ongoing restoration efforts in the country, as well as the preservation and promotion of historical and cultural heritage. They were also shown the painting The Sacred Castle, gifted by Chinese artist Wu Weishan.

Han Zheng was shown the original masonry, which visitors can touch to feel the strength of the five-hundred-year-old walls. The exterior and interior layers were built from brick with embedded boulders, while the space between them was filled with small stones and brick fragments bound with lime mortar.

The delegation also took interest in the collection of armor and a fragment of a Slutsk belt, an element of noblemen’s attire and a notable example of decorative and applied art.

At Nesvizh Castle, the delegation was greeted by performers dressed in historical costumes, who presented a dance number. The guests were guided through the palace halls, with attention drawn to the most notable exhibits and frescoes. They enjoyed an immersive journey into the history of the palace and park ensemble.

A story about the Radziwill family theater also sparked interest. During the tour, historical sound-producing stage mechanisms used at the time were demonstrated.

Vice President Han Zheng arrived in Belarus on 6 June. Upon arrival in Minsk, he laid flowers at the Victory Monument to honor those who died during the Great Patriotic War. He also took part in the opening of the Belarus-China industrial and investment cooperation forum and the opening ceremony of the “Export of Belarusian Goods to China” forum held within the Belagro 2026 international specialized exhibition.
