The chairmanship of the CIS Interstate Council on Industrial Safety has passed to Belarus following a council meeting in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
Head of the Department for Supervision of Industrial Safety of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry Aleksandr Klobuk was elected chairman of council.
The 24th meeting of the CIS Interstate Council on Industrial Safety is taking place in Minsk on 9–10 July, bringing together heads of industrial safety supervisory authorities from Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.
“The main issues to be addressed at the meeting are digitalization, the overall improvement of supervisory processes, and the training and retention of young personnel. We will also review the Interstate Council’s work for 2024–2025 and outline priority areas for the next five years,” Aleksandr Klobuk noted. Particular attention will be paid to analyzing the causes of industrial accidents. The Belarusian side will also share its expertise in fostering a safety culture at hazardous production facilities.
Aleksandr Trembitsky, Head of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision of Russia (Rostekhnadzor), pointed out that fruitful cooperation has been established among the council’s member states. He added that Rostekhnadzor actively exchanges experience with Belarus. “We adopt certain elements from the experience of our Belarusian colleagues and integrate them into the legislation of the Russian Federation. Likewise, our colleagues from Belarus learn from us. We work with other council members in the exact same way. The main thing is that we have an open, honest, and objective dialogue,” Aleksandr Trembitsky emphasized.
