Kochanova calls for strong coordination during harvest campaign

22.07.2026

Closely monitoring the situation on the ground and providing practical assistance to the regions are among the key tasks assigned to members of the Council of the Republic during the harvest campaign, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said at a meeting of the Presidium convened to follow up on the instructions given by the Belarusian President during the nationwide video conference to discuss the 2026 harvest campaign, BelTA has learned.

“The main task of Council of the Republic members today is not simply to monitor figures in operational reports, but to ensure effective coordination of processes at the district level, have a thorough understanding of the real situation on the ground and provide assistance to the regions. We must be fully aware of everything happening locally, identify emerging issues and help resolve them promptly,” Natalya Kochanova said.

She stressed the importance of implementing the president’s key instructions, noting that everyone must perform their duties responsibly, ensuring the highest standards of discipline, complete accuracy in reporting and prudent management of resources.

Natalya Kochanova also emphasized the need to strictly fulfill the president’s instruction to support agricultural workers by providing them with decent working conditions and the necessary assistance. She called for comprehensive support to rural residents in harvesting grain grown on their household plots.

The meeting of the Presidium underlined that the harvest campaign is a matter of national security.

The press service of the Council of the Republic noted that the harvest is not merely the culmination of a year’s work by agricultural producers, but also a rigorous test for the entire system of public administration, a guarantee of the country’s food security and a foundation of Belarus’ export potential

Participants stressed that preserving the harvested crop, ensuring the proper organization of work at the local level and coordinating efforts across the regions are shared priorities.
