The 16th season of the republican youth project 100 Ideas for Belarus has officially begun in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM) Vladimir Pavlovsky noted that the project 100 Ideas for Belarus has proven its worth over 15 seasons, attracting more and more talented and gifted young people. “Looking at statistics, more than 20,000 applications have been submitted over the entire period, and over 3,600 projects have received support and have been implemented. Our main goal is to reach every young person, who has an idea and who has not yet submitted it for discussion,” he added.
Young people aged 14 to 31 can participate in the project, including teams of up to three people. A separate category is also provided for young scientists working in higher education institutions and organizations subordinate to the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. This category includes doctors of sciences under 40, candidates of sciences, specialists with higher education without an academic degree as well as postgraduate and master’s degree students under 35. The expert council will select three winners in each age category in ten nominations.
In this season the educational component will be focused on. “An idea is great, but in order to develop it from the initial stage to the republican final, it is necessary to work with experts in this field who will be able to deeply analyze how to present a particular project, how to refine it and prepare it for implementation at enterprises and in production processes of Belarus,” Vladimir Pavlovsky explained.
Deputy Education Minister Yekaterina Petrutskaya noted high expectations from the new season of the 100 Ideas for Belarus project: “Today guys show interest in various areas. All areas in which nominations are declared – among them power engineering, national security, social sphere, business ideas, agribusiness sector, and healthcare – have potential for success. Young people have a great opportunity to show their worth and say what they expect the country to be tomorrow.” She urged potential participants to believe in their ideas, which can become not just concepts, but projects ready for implementation in the real sector of the economy. Moreover, in the future projects become recipients of scholarships from the Belarus president’s special fund and win significant national and international contests.
Maksim Paripa, a student at Gymnasium No.4 in the city of Baranovichi, won the 15th season in the nomination “Agribusiness technologies and farming” by developing a digital management system for a smart farm. “We’ve digitized almost the entire agriculture of Belarus. We started from Brest Oblast, and now we cover the whole country. Our project received gratitude from the agriculture and food minister, the education minister, and became a scholar of the special fund of the president. The project is about getting a satellite to scan fields, and then use a neural network to process the data about past crops in order to give recommendations on new crops. Our data accuracy now exceeds 95%,” he said.
Maksim learned about 100 Ideas for Belarus through mass media and plans to participate for the third time, now covering the livestock farming field. “The R&D product will be very interesting and even unique,” he specified. The young man is convinced that it is important to keep going: victories are not assured, but enthusiasm and the desire to help one’s country must certainly be present.
First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vitaly Zalessky stressed that participation in 100 Ideas for Belarus is a unique opportunity to prove oneself, unlock creative potential, gain knowledge, make new acquaintances, and build a ladder into the future. “Young people are our vital necessity and joy. They come with new ideas, do things differently, and we believe that they will achieve even greater success,” he concluded.
The 16th season of the project will be implemented in four stages. The first, information stage will last until 20 November. Applications for participation will be accepted until then. The second stage will see selection, training startups, district and zonal selections until 20 December. Then oblast and Minsk city presentation exhibitions will take place, including presentations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Education Ministry (until 31 January 2027), and the republican final. The organizers of the 16th season of the project are the Belarusian Republican Youth Union (BRSM), the Education Ministry, the State Committee on Science and Technology, and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
