Artists from 21 countries have gathered for the 4th Minsk International Festival of Circus Arts, Director of the Belarusian State Circus Vladimir Shaban told the media, BelTA has learned.
The participating countries include France, Israel, Russia, the United States of America, Germany, China, Vietnam, Hungary, Tanzania, Angola, and Colombia. The festival will run for four days. The shows will feature challenging acts in all circus genres, from acrobatics and juggling to animal training and clowning. Both renowned professional performers and newcomers will take to the circus ring.
Well-known producers, directors and circus managers from around the world have been invited to the Belarusian State Circus as members of the jury and honorary guests. The performers will compete in Programs A and B, after which the jury will select the participants for the gala show.
Program A will open with aerialists from Kazakhstan performing on straps, Hungarian board acrobats, Colombian tightrope walkers, and more. The second part will feature a major tiger act from Italy, a juggler from Mexico, Colombian clown Bombillo, and others. The competition program will also feature a trained bear act from Russia, a roller-balance performer from Belgium, camel riders from Uzbekistan, and much more.
From 26 September to 29 November, the Belarusian State Circus will present the Circus Continents show. The show will feature prizewinners of the Fourth Minsk International Festival of Circus Arts.“Festival artists will showcase not only unique tricks, but also the soul and traditions of different continents. Each performance is a new culture and a new language of emotions. The best acts from different parts of the planet have arrived in Belarus to become part of a unique show,” Vladimir Shaban concluded.
