ICAO experts arrive in Belarus

29.09.2026

Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications hosted a meeting with an expert group from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), BelTA learned from the ministry’s press service.

The working visit is aimed at assessing the system for protecting civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference. This is ICAO’s second audit in Belarus in 2026. In February 2026, Belarus successfully completed an ICAO audit in the area of aviation safety.

Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich noted that Belarus constantly pursues a balanced approach to the management of civil aviation to ensure its safety and efficiency. “Our top priority remains the implementation of ICAO standards in national legislation. Recently, we have revised a number of aviation rules on the basis of the organization’s documents,” he said.

According to the minister, Belarus supports an objective and constructive audit. The country is ready to consider any proposals and recommendations that could help improve the national system for protecting civil aviation against unlawful interference.
