The preventive campaign "Safe Overtaking" will be held on September 28-30 in the Minsk region, BelTA learned from the UHAI ATC Directorate of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Sergei Chebotarev.
Raid groups of the traffic police and other public security services will prevent violations of the rules of overtaking and maneuvering by drivers.
Sergei Chebotarev noted that such violations, as a rule, entail serious consequences. In January-August, as a result of deliberate departure to the oncoming traffic, overtaking occurred 15 accidents: 7 people died, 27 were injured. Analysis of accidents suggests that the causes of this are often inattention and undisciplined drivers.
Violators of the rules of overtaking face a fine in the amount of from Br49 to Br245 (from 2 to 10 BV) with the deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for up to a year or without deprivation.
