Then the main attribute of the holiday is carried to the highest tree in Noviny - the oak tree. The sheaf or wheel, preserved since last year, is dumped from a tree and set on fire, in exchange installing a new doll or wheel with kutya. All the action is accompanied by ritual songs, dances and round dances. The essence of the rite in the desire of the villagers to get a good harvest in the new year.

In different parts of the central region, Christmas holidays are celebrated taking into account local traditions. So, one of the traditional and most interesting events will again be the Christmas carol ceremony "Tsary" with elements of the Christmas carnival, inscribed on UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage list. It will be held in the village of Semejevo, Kopylsky district, on January 13. Young men and boys (seven people), the so-called kings dressed in special costumes, as well as other characters will take part in the ritual. The mummers march through the village, go to houses, where they play the scenes with elements of the folk drama "Tsar Maksimiliyan", show the struggle of the "kings". At the end, the traditional congratulations of the hosts and the presentation of the participants are held. The rite "Tsary" appeared in Semejevo in the XVIII century. It was revived in 1997 and was subsequently the first in the region to receive the status of an intangible cultural heritage site of UNESCO.

Another rite from the most archaic New Year's greeting rites - "Shchadrets" - will be shown in the village of Rog of Soligorsk district during the Old New Year, on the night of January 13-14. It takes place with the participation of traditional costume characters - grandfather, woman, goat, crane, horse. The mummers walk around the village from the hut to the hut, they are accompanied by children. It is noteworthy that everyone can take part in the rite.

Also in the Christmas calendar there are ethno-party areas, performances, shows, exhibitions. Directly in the regional center of folk art on January 25 is the republican exhibition "Kalyadnyaya ўzory", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Belarusian Union of Masters of Folk Art.

The Republican charity event "Miracles at Christmas" is an annual joint event of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and the BRPO. The symbol of the action is red gloves that reflect the aspiration of children and young people of Belarus to be surrounded by care, attention of people, especially on New Year and Christmas holidays. The action is carried out for pupils of orphanages, boarding schools, reception centers, shelters for orphans, disabled children, children with disabilities, children in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, educational colony for minors.

The "Miracles for Christmas" holiday is supplemented by a charity box of good deeds of the republican charitable action "Our Children", which is held under the patronage of the President of Belarus from December 11 to January 10.

Thus, the milk processing enterprises for the year identified priority areas for expanding the range of hard rennet, soft and processed cheeses, cheese products, as well as measures to increase the production of dry dairy products. Enterprises of the holding also plan to increase the assortment of whole-milk, vitaminized products, products of therapeutic and preventive and dietary purposes, dairy products with a sugar substitute, nutrition for athletes.

For example, JSC Zdravushka-Milk plans to increase production by 5% in 2018 due to the production of a new type of competitive products in the form of one-piece ultra-pasteurized milk of different fat content in PET bottles. Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1 intends to introduce new types of rennet cheese, soft cheeses, including fillers, processed cheeses, cheese products, as well as to increase the production of dry dairy products. The increase in production and sales implies other enterprises specializing in the production of meat and dairy products. Thus, the further development of Veles-Meat LLC will be aimed at providing a complete cycle from the production of raw materials to its processing. Realization of investment projects will allow to provide the enterprise with own raw materials, to reduce the cost price and to raise competitiveness of products, to increase export deliveries. JSC "Gamma Taste" will make one of the main accents on the release of innovative and import-substituting products. There are 247 territorial election commissions of the regional, district, city, village and rural levels in the Minsk region. 60 district electoral commissions for elections to the Minsk Regional Council of Deputies have been formed. The composition of district commissions included 660 people (on average 11 people in each commission). About 45% of their members are public associations, 2.5% - political parties. The most actively nominated representatives to the district election commissions of the NGO "Belaya Rus", the Belarusian Women's Union, and the FPB. The process of forming polling stations in local elections was completed in the central region.
