During a working trip to Uzda District of Minsk Oblast, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will review the development of pedigree livestock breeding in the country, BelTA has learned.
The head of state will visit the Yachenka dairy complex of BelInterGen-Agro. The discussion will focus on the company’s operations and the use of modern technologies, including biotechnologies, in dairy and beef cattle breeding as old farms are modernized into modern dairy complexes. The president will also examine the breeds of pedigree animals developed by BelInterGen.
BelInterGen is a Belarusian private company specializing in pedigree livestock breeding. Since 2003, its experts have provided consultations and supported the development of high-productivity herds in breeding farms. The acquisition of two previously non-operational farms in Uzda District made it possible to expand the breeding of pedigree heifers, young cows, bulls, and more. The idea emerged to produce milk independently, which led to the creation of an agribusiness division.
The company primarily breeds Holstein cattle but has also begun reproducing Jersey cattle, a small dairy breed. Its main feature is milk with a high fat and protein content, including elevated levels of A2 protein. At the same time, due to their lower body weight, these cows require significantly less feed. Daily milk yield reaches up to 30 liters.
In January-April 2026, the gross agricultural output of BelInterGen-Agro in comparable prices amounted to 129.5% year-on-year, including 132.3% for milk and 110.1% for beef cattle production. As of 1 May, 2026, the herd size reached 1,900 head, increasing by more than 27% over the year.
The Yachenka dairy complex was purchased at auction in 2013 and subsequently underwent reconstruction. Construction is underway for a modern closed-cycle dairy complex for 3,500 head of cattle. The milking herd will consist of 1,500 cows with an annual yield of 13,000 kg of milk per cow.
