Belarus' export of meat products to Kazakhstan in January-July 2019 increased by 79.3% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
The ministry hosted a meeting between Belarus Agriculture and Food Minister Anatoly Khotko and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus Askar Beisenbayev. The parties discussed ways to intensify trade and economic cooperation in agriculture and the food industry, including implementation of joint investment projects. “Belarus exports to Kazakhstan beef, cheeses, quark, sausage products, dry whey, finished and canned meat products, poultry, starch, and malt extract. In January-July 2019, export of meat and meat products increased by 79.3% and reached $43.7 million. Export of beef was 2.4 times up ($28.3 million), sausage products – 19.9% up ($7.2 million), meat products – 2.5 times up ($2.6 million). Export of dry whey soared by 2.2 times and came at $4.6 million, gelatin – by 47.1% ($0.27 million),” the press service said. Belarus constantly works on expanding the range of exports. This year, the country will start exporting breeding stock to Kazakhstan. Belarus has already exported 245 heads of cattle worth $280,800. In terms of export, Kazakhstan is one of Belarus' top ten main partners. In January-July 2019, Belarus' trade in agricultural and food products amounted to $177.3 million, which was 99.3% as against the same period last year. Merchandise export equaled $163.6 million, while import was at $13.6 million. The surplus of Belarus' foreign trade totaled $150 million.
