Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed a law on ratifying the agreement on free trade between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states on one side and Indonesia on the other side, the press service of the head of state told BelTA. 

This international document is aimed at simplifying mutual trade, which will make it possible to create conditions for expanding export shipments and save money on paying customs duties.

BelTA reported earlier that the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia is designed to facilitate access to new markets that cover countries with the combined population of around half a billion people.

In accordance with the agreement, Indonesia opens up preferential access for the EAEU countries with regard to 90% of the trade classification. Preferential export coverage for the countries of the Eurasian G5 will cover more than 94% of the current export in cost terms. As a result of the trade regime liberalization, the average rate applied by Indonesia to EAEU goods has to drop fivefold from 10.2% to 2%.

In terms of commodities, preferential access for the EAEU will be enabled for such key agricultural goods as cereals (wheat, millet, rye, oats), spices, certain types of flour, bakery products, fish and meat of bovine animals, and dairy products, including milk powder and cheeses, mineral waters, and many other items. 

As for the industrial sector, concessions for the EAEU have been granted for the following categories of goods: metallurgical products, petroleum products (including light and other distillates), coal and anthracites, fertilizers, primary polymers, forestry products (plywood, furniture, and so on), construction machines and vehicles, and various types of equipment. 

In turn, Indonesia will also be able to increase shipments of a wide range of consumer goods. This includes, among other things, automotive components, electronics (household appliances), and certain types of clothing and footwear.

Цифровизацию горно-металлургической отрасли обсудят на заседании Совета глав правительств СНГ. Об этом заявил журналистам заместитель министра иностранных дел Беларуси Павел Утюпин, передает корреспондент БЕЛТА.

"Экономика - основа благополучия в стране, от нее зависят рабочие места, заработная плата, стабильность. Исходя из этого принципа, мы выстраиваем двусторонние и многосторонние отношения и движемся вместе со своими партнерами вперед. СНГ является ядром интеграции в мире, на постсоветском пространстве, и, конечно, экономические вопросы - одни из важнейших", - сказал Павел Утюпин.

Премьер-министр Беларуси Александр Турчин посещает с рабочим визитом Туркменистан для участия в заседании Совета глав правительств СНГ. Заседание совета пройдет 22 мая в Ашхабаде в узком и расширенном составах. По итогам заседания главы делегаций подпишут итоговые документы.

"Что касается повестки предстоящего заседания, там будут затрагиваться в том числе вопросы конгрессно-выставочной деятельности - будет утверждаться стратегия до 2030 года. А также концепция цифровой трансформации горно-металлургических комплексов СНГ - с одной стороны, нельзя сказать, что это новая тема, с другой - происходит адаптация под сегодняшние условия. Все наработки, которые есть у стран в горно-металлургической промышленности, концептуально складываются воедино, происходит обмен опытом между странами, сопряжение проведенной работы. И это выгодно. У Беларуси есть карьерная техника БЕЛАЗ, соответственно, актуальна цифровизация, беспилотная техника, техника с удаленным управлением, системы связи и управления", - отметил замминистра.

Президент Беларуси Александр Лукашенко подписал закон, которым ратифицировано соглашение о свободной торговле между Евразийским экономическим союзом и его государствами-членами с одной стороны и Индонезией с другой. Об этом БЕЛТА сообщили в пресс-службе главы государства.

Этот международный документ направлен на упрощение взаимной торговли, что позволит создать условия для расширения экспортных поставок и обеспечить экономию на уплате таможенных пошлин.

Как сообщалось БЕЛТА, соглашение о свободной торговле между ЕАЭС и Индонезией призвано содействовать выходу на новые рынки, которые охватывают страны с совокупным населением около полумиллиарда человек.

В соответствии с соглашением Индонезия открывает для стран ЕАЭС преференциальный доступ в отношении 90% товарной номенклатуры. Преференциальное экспортное покрытие для стран евразийской "пятерки" в стоимостном выражении охватит более 94% текущего экспорта. В результате либерализации торгового режима средняя ставка, применяемая Индонезией к товарам ЕАЭС, должна снизиться в пять раз - с 10,2% до 2%.

В товарном разрезе для ЕАЭС преференциальный доступ будет обеспечен для таких ключевых сельскохозяйственных товаров, как зерновые культуры (пшеница, просо, рожь, овес), пряности, отдельные виды муки, хлебобулочные изделия, рыба и мясо крупного рогатого скота, молочная продукция, включая сухое молоко и сыры, минеральные воды и многие другие позиции.

В части промышленного сектора уступки для ЕАЭС предоставлены по следующим категориям товаров: продукция металлургической промышленности, нефтепродукты (включая легкие и прочие дистилляты), уголь и антрациты, удобрения, полимеры первичных форм, продукция лесопромышленного комплекса (фанера, мебель и т.д.), строительная техника, различные виды оборудования.

В свою очередь Индонезия также сможет нарастить поставки по широкой номенклатуре потребительских товаров. Речь идет в том числе об автокомпонентах, продукции электроники (бытовых приборах), отдельных видах одежды и обуви.

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President Paul Biya of Cameroon on the National Day of the Republic of Cameroon, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA. 

The head of state emphasized Belarus’ strong interest in deepening ties with Cameroon in trade, economy, politics, education, and other areas. 

“I am confident that expanding cooperation in agriculture serves the interests of both countries and will help improve food security for the people of Cameroon,” the Belarusian leader noted. “Belarus has experience in successfully implementing joint agricultural projects in Africa and is ready to offer effective solutions in this area.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished good health and continued productive work in his responsible state position to Paul Biya and peace and prosperity to the people of Cameroon.

The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Minsk City Clinical Oncology Center and the Beijing GoBroad Company have signed a cooperation and partnership agreement, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. 

The document was signed by Vitaly Zalessky, First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; Viktor Kondratovich, Chief Physician of the Minsk City Clinical Oncology Center; and Nang Gao, Vice President of GoBroad company.

Vitaly Zalessky noted that the agreement opens new horizons for the development of medicine and science, laying a solid foundation for fruitful and long-term cooperation. 

Special attention will be paid to improving the quality of medical care.Under the agreement, the parties will exchange advanced experience and knowledge in modern medical technologies, including their development, implementation and promotion. Joint scientific, clinical and educational initiatives are also planned, as well as joint scientific events such as forums, round tables and conferences.

According to the NASB, GoBroad Healthcare Group (a Beijing-based high-tech medical group founded in 2017), operates a network of leading research clinics and laboratories in China. The company specializes in complex diagnostics and treatment of critical cases, particularly in onco-hematology and cell therapy.

Belarus is determined to deepen its partnership with Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast, President Alexander Lukashenko affirmed during his meeting with Governor Denis Pasler. A trade turnover already approaching one billion dollars is not the ceiling — it can, and will, be doubled.

Machine-building and industrial cooperation, deliveries of machinery and foodstuffs, and joint construction projects stand out as spheres of boundless opportunity. The West’s sanctions and ultimatums have only strengthened the resolve of both nations to rely first and foremost on their own capabilities. Russians, Lukashenko assured his guest, can always count on Belarusian support across a wide range of industries.

Monday, 18 May, unfolded beneath the banner of “Governor’s Day,” dedicated to cooperation with Sverdlovsk Oblast. Denis Pasler, who took office in September 2025, first visited Belarus for the INNOPROM. Belarus exhibition. The same forum has now taken root in Yekaterinburg. For many Russian regional leaders, beginning their tenure by strengthening ties with Belarus is fast becoming a fine tradition — and a promising omen. The connection remains strong and vibrant.

Sverdlovsk Oblast has long been known as the “backbone of the state,” a title earned in Soviet times when the factories of the Urals forged the country’s shield. It possesses colossal industrial and resource potential — vast mineral wealth and a powerful manufacturing base. No wonder the region was once called the “forge of Victory” during the Great Patriotic War.

Welcoming the governor, the Belarusian leader recalled his own visits to the region and its formidable character. “From history and from today’s reality I know well that your oblast is one of the central, truly Russia-forming regions,” Lukashenko said. In Soviet times, he reminded his guest, the industrial might and output of Sverdlovsk were sources of genuine national pride. “Everything we could not produce on the periphery, we created here. The most advanced technologies were concentrated in your hands.”

Cooperation between Belarus and Sverdlovsk has proved highly successful. In recent years, the two sides have built a trade turnover of nearly one billion dollars. Yet the President is convinced that the development level and inherent potential of both Belarus and Sverdlovsk allow for far more ambitious goals.

“Understanding the scale of what we can produce together, a billion dollars is merely a passing milestone,” he emphasised. “It is only a matter of time before we double that figure.”

Lukashenko highlighted several promising directions for growth: machine-building and agriculture, with increased supplies of equipment, foodstuffs, and — if needed — mineral fertilisers. Belarus, he noted, has successfully adapted to sanctions and now faces no surplus in fertiliser production. “We have adjusted, and today we have no excess mineral fertilisers. Everything we once supplied — and even more — we sell on international markets at good prices and in full volumes.” Nevertheless, Minsk stands ready to support the Russian region whenever required.

“We often speak of machine-building and agriculture, yet we sometimes forget that both in the past and today we maintain a very high level of machine-tool development,” the President continued. “You should take this into account. It is extremely important for us. The President of Russia and I often discuss this issue with your ministers. They understand that without machine tools, nothing worthwhile can be created — especially in industrial powerhouses like Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast. We are ready to work together in this direction.”

Oil refining also remains a priority. “Our adversaries are currently going to great lengths to disrupt normal operations at oil-refining enterprises,” Lukashenko observed. “We have two modernised refineries — Ambassador Boris Gryzlov knows this well — and we are always prepared to lend a shoulder whenever needed. If your region requires assistance in this sphere, simply inform the ambassador, and Boris Vyacheslavovich will relay the message. We will help you exactly as we help the whole of Russia today.”

The strategic focus of the talks was industrial cooperation — the true foundation and future of Belarusian-Russian relations. “This is the bedrock of our development and of the ties between Belarus and Russia. We are prepared to expand this cooperation in every possible way,” Lukashenko stressed. He cited the successful partnership between Belarusian giant BELAZ and the Russian company Pneumostroy mashina as a shining example.

When Western companies withdrew from the Belarusian and Russian markets, new opportunities opened. “We are ready to move forward in that direction as well,” the President said. He drew particular attention to optics and microelectronics — sectors Belarus has preserved and elevated since Soviet times and which are now highly relevant for Russia. “We have not only kept these industries alive, we have raised them to the required level. We already supply substantial volumes to the Russian Federation. If you need these products, take a closer look. We are prepared not only to sell, but to create joint cooperative ventures and enterprises both here and on your territory to develop these fields further.”

Lukashenko continued, “The so-called sanctions have taught an important lesson: one must rely on one’s own strengths and pursue genuine import substitution. It is a pleasure to hear that you are now producing your own aircraft, including civilian models — not to mention the serious strides made in your military-industrial complex.” These advances, he noted, will naturally pull Belarusian capacities forward as well. Repair bases in Belarus are gradually transforming into full-scale production sites for armoured vehicles, aircraft, and modern shipbuilding. “We are developing not merely repair work but the creation of contemporary complexes and machines. This is beneficial for us, and we are equally ready to work with Russia across all these directions.”

Governor Denis Pasler, for his part, noted that relations with Belarus are developing strongly thanks to joint efforts and high-level support. Cooperation in industry has advanced significantly.

The leaders also discussed future-oriented projects, including the development of energy infrastructure. “It is a large-scale programme that is being implemented systematically every year. The steady growth in trade turnover is the clearest proof of that,” Pasler said.

The conversation turned to practical needs: supplies of passenger and freight transport for Sverdlovsk’s vast industry, and major construction projects — notably the second metro line in Yekaterinburg. The two sides intend to work closely and, above all, for the long term.

At the end of June, Governor Pasler will return to Minsk for the traditional Forum of Regions, where dozens of new agreements between enterprises are expected to be signed. The forum will focus not only on Sverdlovsk-specific topics but on the combined strengths of Belarusian and Russian regions and the new horizons they can open together. This is genuine, tangible cooperation — a solid pillar supporting both Minsk and Moscow.

It's just that, within the framework of the state policy we pursue in the field of museum affairs, we must create conditions for each museum to showcase its identity, its essence, its core collection, those items that constitute the pride of the Museum Fund of the Republic of Belarus, and we have many such items."

Belarus is ready to lend a shoulder to Russian regions in oil refining, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with Sverdlovsk Oblast Governor Denis Pasler on 18 May, BelTA has learned.

“These days, our opponents are full of rage, and they are throwing oil refineries into a state of disarray. We have two modernized plants - the ambassador [Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov] knows this well - and we offer our shoulder whenever needed. If your region requires help and support in this regard, let the ambassador know and Boris Vyacheslavovich [Gryzlov] will inform us. We will try to assist you just as we are helping all of Russia today,” the Belarusian leader said.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on 15 May. Emmerson Mnangagwa is in Belarus for a short working visit, BelTA has learned.

The discussion centered on strengthening bilateral relations and implementing the strategic cooperation and partnership roadmap for 2026-2030.

Aleksandr Lukashenko reaffirmed that Belarus is keen to pursue joint projects with Zimbabwe, including those that involve other African nations. Key priorities include creating logistics corridors and expanding industrial cooperation. Humanitarian cooperation was also discussed.

"Любовью лечат одиночество людей", - такие слова прозвучали в песне многодетного отца из Узды, которую он вместе со своей семьей подготовил специально к III Республиканскому семейному фестивалю, который прошел 16 мая в Воложинском районе, передает корреспондент БЕЛТА.

На гала-концерте фестиваля, который прошел с 15 по 16 мая, 19 семей из разных уголков страны представили свое творчество. Среди них - семья Фалько, воспитывающая семерых детей, которая приехала на мероприятие из Узды. Их номер "Моя семья - моя страна" никого не оставил равнодушным, причем написал песню глава семейства Анатолий.

"Мы называем ее гимном семьи, и я как автор постарался вложить в текст самое важное, ведь нет ничего важнее в жизни, чем семья. Для меня и супруги Марины это и труд, и большое счастье", - отметил Анатолий.

"Раньше мы жили в Минске, а затем переехали в уютный небольшой городок в Минской области - Узду, где построили дом. Нам нравится в райцентре растить детей, там спокойно, красивая природа, хорошая экология. Мы также смогли там реализоваться профессионально - я преподаю вокал, а жена работает реабилитологом. Дети также занимаются музыкой, поэтому участие в фестивале - это возможность показать то, что мы умеем", - рассказал Анатолий.

Он также отметил высокий уровень мастерства выступавших семей. 

"Хороший вокал, хореография, костюмы замечательные. В следующем году обязательно приедем снова. Такие мероприятия вдохновляют, радуют душу и создают чувство единства", - поделился многодетный отец.
