In January-August of 2023, Belarus was the most popular destination for Russian tourists. This is a continuation of the trend of 2022, according to Filip Guly, Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Tourism Industry Union, BelTA has learned.

The sanctions pressure has had a certain impact. "In addition, this is a natural process of the post-pandemic market. A significant factor is an extensive flight program with Russian regions. In 2023, residents of Ufa, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Pskov and other cities can travel to Belarus for weekends, for weekly sightseeing tours or for holidays in health resorts," Filip Guly said.

He took note of the programs by large federal tourism organizations and entrepreneurial initiatives of local companies. "For example, the Republic of Bashkortostan has included Belarus in its Bashkir Longevity program. Now, about 50 pensioners from Ufa arrive in Minsk every week, and they are compensated for air travel," Filip Guly informed.

Tourism is one of the key elements of cultural cooperation in the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Important factors why Russians choose Belarus as a country for recreation is safety and understandability. "Thanks to convenient logistics, the absence of a language barrier, affordable prices and the access to the Mir card system and a friendly attitude, Belarus has become the main foreign destination for tourists from Russia," he noted.

The interaction of the Russian and Belarusian regions is aimed at making the two countries more attractive for mutual tourism and adapting tourist products to the needs of travelers from Russia and Belarus. "Business and distribution are gaining experience, and infrastructure and services are adapting their services to consumption criteria, studying regional specifics. This leads to growth of business ties, which should ultimately lead to investments," Filip Guly said.

As an example, he cited a large Russian cruise company. It not only became the main lease holder of the Belaya Rus ship, bringing tourists from the Russian Federation to travel around the Pripyat, but also became a full-fledged business entity of the Republic of Belarus "This company provides jobs, is looking to invest in new vessels for Belarusian river tourism in the future, and introduces Belarusians to cruises programs on the rivers of Russia. We are talking not only about the famous Volga, but also about the Lena and the Yenisei," Filip Guly noted.

The current convocation of the parliament has to accomplish all tasks in furtherance of the Constitution before the parliament's term of office is over. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement as he met with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked that he had not noticed any shortcomings in the work of the current parliament so far. “There have been no noticeable shortcomings and failures in the work of the current composition of the parliament,” he said. “But we are not summing up results of the parliament's work just yet. We will get back to it later. I should definitely visit the parliament after elections during the last session of this convocation.”

The president noted it is necessary to discuss results of the ninth session and tasks for the tenth session of the current convocation of the parliament. “It is necessary to accomplish all the tasks facing our parliament. Because we shouldn't leave them to the new composition of the parliament. And after all, we can resolve problems, particularly in furtherance of our Constitution. It is necessary to pass all the laws. I'd like to hear what we have left. It seems we are doing quite well in this regard,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also mentioned the readiness to discuss other matters: “Members of the parliament may have some problems, requests. I am ready to respond. But on the whole, it seems to me that the core of the parliament is quite good. MPs are not afraid of meeting with people. We see leaders of the parliament in mass media. But naturally the next parliament will differ from the current one. Because it will have to deal with more global tasks and the situation is complicated.”

Since the present parliament is about to finish its work and new members of the parliament will be elected during the single voting day in February 2024, Aleksandr Lukashenko asked Vladimir Andreichenko what he thought about the work of Belarusian MPs.

The president said: “You have a lot of experience. You can compare things and say what has been done and what has not been done, what else needs doing. Although we will revisit the matter more than once in order to put together a normal composition of the future parliament. Yes, the nation will make decisions. The nation will elect them but the nation needs to be informed. It is necessary to inform the nation about the situation in detail. And about how the parliament has done its job. It is also necessary to remind people about functions of the parliament. Because it has been the way of life since Soviet times that people are accustomed to MPs taking care of roof repairs or fence repairs. We stopped doing that a long time ago. We have a small number of people in the parliament. And it makes laws. It is the key job of the parliament.”

Автопарк УЗ «Воложинская ЦРБ» пополнился двумя легковыми автомобилями Geely.

Церемония вручения ключей проходит 12 сентября в Солигорском районе на базе дилерского центра автопроизводителя. Автопарк учреждений здравоохранения области пополнят 50 легковых автомобилей Geely.

Defense attaches from 14 African states have arrived in Minsk on a visit, BelTA learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry.

The purpose of the visit is to study Belarus' cooperation capabilities in the military sector.

The foreign delegation is expected to visit educational institutions of the country, enterprises of the military-industrial complex and the industrial sector in general, and also get familiar with the cultural heritage of Belarus.

Накануне профессионального праздника белорусских следователей нагрудный знак «10 лет Управлению Следственного комитета по Минской области», а также Благодарность Управления Следственного комитета Республики Беларусь по Минской области вручены майору юстиции, старшему следователю следственного отдела Воложинского районного отдела Следственного комитета Республики Беларусь Юлии Селятыцкой.

В органах эта красивая и энергичная женщина уже 18 лет.  После окончания академии МВД, некоторое время работала юристом Воложинской райагроапромтехники.  Работа была не напряженной, да и заработная плата устраивала, но потом стало тесно в рамках такой рутинной деятельности. Поэтому, когда предложили попробовать свои силы в следственном деле, с радостью согласилась. Сначала была дознователем, а с января 2013 года стала старшим следователем районного отдела следственного комитета.

О своем первом деле и о том, что до сих пор удивляет в работе и как справляется с трудностями профессии Юлия Генриховна рассказала нашему корреспонденту. Большое интервью читайте в следующем номере газеты, который выйдет 15 сентября.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed Decree No.282 to complete the implementation of the projects which were earlier financed by loans and grants of international financial organizations, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

The document establishes legal grounds for using budget funds to complete the infrastructure projects, the financing of which was terminated by international financial organizations at the stage of active implementation.

Команда Воложинского района по футболу приняла участие в Республиканском турнире FootRoom CUP среди мальчиков 2014-15 г.р. Турнир проходил в Минске 9 сентября.

The Days of Culture of Russia's Republic of Tatarstan will be running in Belarus on 12-14 September, the Culture Ministry press service told BelTA.

The program includes various exhibition projects in the National Library and Belarusian museums, meetings of intellectuals and representatives of cinematographers' unions, cinema days and concerts by performers from the Republic of Tatarstan. Heads of folk art institutions will exchange best practices at a roundtable session “Creating conditions for promoting folk crafts”.

During the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kachalov Kazan Academic Russian Bolshoi Drama Theater will begin a tour at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater. A cooperation agreement will be signed between the National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan and the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus.
